1.  Margam Game

     Fund Raising for Orphanages & the Homeless organized by the Hashers of Melawati was held 

     on 23rd August 2008.

     Donated RM1,000 towards the cause.

 

2.  Donation of Wheel Chairs   

     5 wheel chairs to the National Zoo - 6th August 2008

     2 wheel chairs to the class of special children of Sek. Keb. Taman Melawati 2 - Sept 2008

 

3.  Vocational Service Award

     Presented to Mr Arumugam & Mr Garbriel

 

4.  Sister Club Visit - RC Phuket South

     Successfully completed a water project to provide clean drinking water to a primary school in

     Phuket South.

 

5.  Donation of Dictionaries & Workbooks

     Donated 200 dictionaries to SJ K Slim River in Slim River on  7th Nov 2008

     Donation of UPSR workbooks for 42 poor students on 2nd Feb 2009

 

6.  Vocational Visit

     Children from an orphanage were taken for an outing to Beryl's Chocolate factory & a tour of  

     Putrajaya.

 

7.  Medical Camp

     A medical camp was jointly organized with the Methodist Centre in Ulu Klang - 15th Feb. 2009

 

8.  Rotary world help network (RWHN) container project

     A joint project with RC Port Coquitlam Centennial (D5050) Canada.  A container load of beds,

     matttresses & wheelchairs were donated to needy homes + organizations.

 

9.  Medical camp with PC Port Coquitlam, Canada & RC Bhavnagar, India

     Successfully completed a joint project organized with our sister club RC Port Coquitlam,

     Canda & RC Bhavnagar, India for a village in Gujarat, India.  About 200 villagers were

     screened for various ailments & 40 were identified for free cataract surgeries.

 

10. Training Seminar for Care Givers of Children with Special Needs

      A comprehensive training on various aspects of handling children with special needs was

      held in KL on Sat 9th May 2009.  A total of 145 participants attended this seminar.

 

11. On going project - support program for desitute mothers (2 families)

      Aid in the form of monthly groceries to two families with single mothers as sole breadwinners.

 

12. Joint project with RC Tbilisi, Georgia

      Upgrading and seting up a theatre and a library for patients in a psychiatric hospital in Tbilisi, 

      George.
